ITINERARY

Motorbiking in Cambodia

7 DAYS 6 NIGHTS

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, you will be welcomed by our guide, who will accompany you to your hotel for check in. Phnom Penh was once considered as one of the most beautiful cities in the Orient, and despite its recent turbulent history, it still retains a colonial charm. Cambodia’s capital is a bustling city, majestically located at the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap. Wide tree-lined boulevards and many colonial-era buildings reflect the glorious days and add to the allure of the city, where Asian and Western traditions  meet in a fascinating way.

Enjoy a 1/2 day city tour in Phnom Penh visiting S21 Toul Sleng Museum and Royal Palace.

After breakfast we ride with the Motorbikes to Kompong Luck and take a boat to explore the floating villages. We can arrange a BBQ lunch on the boat or near the lake. After lunch we go straight on the highway to reach in the late afternoon Battambang. Founded in the 11th century by the Khmer Empire, Battambang is well known for being the leading rice-producing province of the country. For nearly 100 years, it was a major commercial hub and provincial capital of Siamese province of Inner Cambodia (1795-1907), though it was always populated by Khmer with a mix of ethnic Vietnamese, Lao, Thai and Chinese. Still today Battambang is the main hub of the Northwest connecting the entire region with Phnom Penh and Thailand, and as such it’s a vital link to Cambodia. The city is situated by the Sangkae River, a tranquil, small body of water that winds its way through Battambang Province providing its nice picturesque setting. As with much of Cambodia, the French Colonial architecture is an attractive bonus of the city. It is home to some of the best preserved French colonial architecture in the country.

Overnight in Battambang.

After breakfast we ride southwest to Phnom Sampeau. The killing caves of Phnom Sampeau are caves in Phnom Sampeau, a hill 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Battambang in Cambodia. Major atrocities occurred there during the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Many victims were bludgeoned to death and then tossed into holes which served as the skylights to the caves.Men and women were placed in separate caves and clothes in another. Today there is a large glass memorial in the cave next to the skulls and bones and a golden reclining Buddha. It is reached via a staircase. A memorial, assembled from cyclone fencing and chicken wire, contains human bones at the base of the stairway.

After lunch on the top of the mountain we ride south direction Phnom Penh, where we stay overnight.
